2nd, 3rd, 4th, etc. opinions…

I have a few of those “forever friends”. Those friends who move away, but then, you know you have such a connection, that if 20 years pass, you’ll know her just like you did before. No time has passed. Nothing changes. I have a handful of those. One of them, who I have only occasional contact with through email, I start my email replies with “Jeanett-i-OOOOO!!!!”, because that’s how I always used to greet her in person! OH! Just love her SO much! She’s so real, fun, talent coming out of every pore… Anyway, got an email from her, she’s having some major female stuff, facing surgery next week. Not sure if doctors want to take all or just some parts out… Decisions, possible complications, etc… But I just know she will do just fine!

If you have ever faced any surgery, especially something major, or complicating, get ready to be bombarded with a myriad of opinions from doctors, then a multitude of opinions, advice, stories, etc. from well meaning friends and family. Nearly everyone you “let in” will have something to add. Some of it can be annoying. Some people take the opportunity to make it all about them. Or some will assume they know exactly what you have, since they had it before. But it’s actually nothing like what you have. Patience and forbearance is in order with those conversations. It’s like a eulogy that isn’t about the deceased. Know what I mean? But alot of it can be SO enlightening, and help you to make decisions based on lots of info. And you may be surprised where the best “cure” idea could come from! I’m a talker. So I tell lots of people my problem, and sift through all the options. It’s an education for sure!

These days, with the internet, there is no reason to be uninformed. The more you know, the more you can ask your doctor, and then make the very best decision for yourself.

It turns out, I’ll be flying to Seattle on Tues, flying over Jeanett-i-OOO!!! sending love and prayers from 30,000 feet! XOXOXO
