Turming up the oven again!
Turning up the oven again! Uggghhh! I hear the metabolism is like an oven.
I’ve talked about cardio in the past, and you know I hate it! I love working out with weights and pilates. But getting on the cross trainer is boring. And in my defense, with all my press travels in the last 2 months, I had no time to get into the gym, so I was doing mostly my 65 pushups, 150 abs, and 150 obliques, and tri-cepts dips in hotel rooms and airports. I can crank those out in about 15 minutes. Though I was doing them almost daily, I was gaining around the middle.
My trainer has always told me that 3 days a week of cardio = maintenance, and 4 days a week = weight loss. I guess that applies to women in the 40’s. So if I’m not doing 3 days a week of cardio, I will gain.
OK, so I got back in the saddle. Did cardio last Thurs and Fri. along with my weight training and pilates. And cardio again on Mon and Tues. By Tues. AM, I could see my middle shrinking again. Read em and weep! Uh huh… there’s no way around it.
So I’ve got my French CDs on my cross trainer and I’m going to make sure I continue to get into the gym for cardio at least 4 days a week when I’m on the road. I’m only doing 25 minutes and seeing the results.
